Indigenous Digital Citizenship

From the first day we discussed the final project criteria I knew what I wanted to attempt. This project has been something I’ve wanted to do for the last year and encompasses a few of my teaching passions; tech, online identity, and anti-oppressive education. For my final assignment I have chosen to create a Digital Citizenship mini-unit that incorporates aspects of Indigenous perspective. The layout is not complete, the content will always be growing, and I hope this is just a scratch on the surface of what it will become.

I played around with a few LMS systems and sites but wanted to use something that offered a blank slate that I could build any way I wanted and then modify and adapt as needed and use as a template if and when my school decides to build upon it in a different platform. I also wanted it to be free and linked to my other learning experiences - so I used the new ‘course’ feature on my Squarespace blog account. Yes, I pay for this domain, as I operate other parts of my life through it, but the course itself is free to anyone wishing to access it, and that was vitally important to me.

To access the course, click HERE to be taken to the make landing page and then click to join the course and move through the modules. You’ll find 14 short lessons that also include additional resources, tools, and activities for adaptations, enrichments and extensions.
